Wishing everyone good luck on Sunday. So hope to participate one year. My baby girl is 8 and was born with Neuroblastoma on 7/17/06. I think this is a beautiful way for her to participate and know more about the children who still battle and have unfortunately lost their battle with this horrible disease :)

Oh my gosh I don't know how to explain my feelings.
I've been following Nicholas' story almost since the beginning when I was invited to like the page. I was so hopeful that he would get better.
Now, I'm sitting here watching his memorial video and crying.
I didn't know you personally, Nicholas, but I knew from all the updates that you were strong. I was praying for you every single day in hopes that you would get better. Your family is so strong. My heart has been touched by your story, Nicholas, and I believe that you are the strongest child I have ever known.
Rest In Peace Nicholas Pedone. Everyone will miss you

I just read about Nicholas' story in the paper and my heart broke for your family. Unfortunately, I do understand the pain you are going through. I was in your situation on March 16 of this past year as our 2 1/2 year old girl lost hear battle to medulloblastoma (rare brain tumor). She lost her battle in less than 6 months. The pain is still fresh and unbearable at times.
I poked my leg with a needle, sewing a doll for her sister just a few minutes ago and started to have an uncontorable emotion of sadness. Remembering all those times we had to inject her with nupegon and lovenox shots and how she use to cry ouchey mommy.
I write this because I want you to know you are not alone. Unfortunately, there are a handful of us out here. I don't know why our kids were chosen with this burden. I pray that their souls are at peace in God's loving presence.
I know your loss is so fresh and you are in such shock but if you feel like reaching out and want to talk, I am here for you.
Nicholas touched my heart from the moment I read about him. What an incredible boy you had raised. May his memories always warm your heart and God give you strength to get through this difficult time in your life.
RIP Nicholas Pedone. I will be praying for your family.

Although I never met Mom, I've had the pleasure of having Nick as our landscaper in the past. I want to express my condolences. Memory Eternal to Little Nicholas!!! God help you! As we have always prayed for little Nicholas and you, we will pray now that God gives you strength to deal with this! You are in our hearts and we can't imagine what you're going through (although I just lost my Papa to cancer in January - I know it's not the same) but I can only imagine it is inexplicable heartache. I cry for you as I write this...
if there is anything we can do for you, Nick knows our number..

I am saddened beyond words to hear the news of Nicholas' passing. Here is a poem that I always find comforting in such difficult times:
The Unknown Shore by Bishop Brent
"A ship sails and I stand watching till she fades
on the horizon and someone at my side says
She is gone.
Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all.
She is just as large now as when I last saw her.
Her diminished size and total loss from my sight
is in me, not in her.
And just at that moment, when someone at my side
says she is gone, there are others
who are watching her coming over their horizon
and other voices take up a glad shout -
There she comes!
That is what dying is.
An horizon and just the limit of our sight.
Lift us up O Lord, that we may see further."

Your beautiful smile brings great joy to my heart. Your courage and your faith is what God has given you to fight this strong storm. Many a kid comes through our ER as a patient but you are part of our family and will always be close to our hearts. Keep strong and keep smiling. Thank you for reminding me why I come to Winthrop each day and work in pediartrics. You are an angel and an example of a warrior prepared for battle and to fight the hardest fights. I am praying for you Nick. Keep up the fight, don't give up! Can't wait to see your precious face. We love you!

To the family ~ I am sure that you have heard this before, but I was in a coma and I can tell you that Nicholas can hear you.....so talk to him, read to him, play music for him. God bless all of you at this very difficult time. I say the rosary everyday and I offer it up for Nicholas and his family. Stay strong.
